After high school I moved back to Wisconsin. I worked at Northwestern Mutual
Life Insurance for 10 years. During that time I met Mike and we married in
'75. We took five weeks and drove to Alaska for our honeymoon, camping all the way.
In '78 our daughter Genevieve was born. In 1980, we moved to North Pole,
Alaska. In 1982 Elena was born and in 1984 we had Derek.From Sept. of '84 to June of
'85, we lived in Seattle while Mike attended Medex Northwest at the U of WA for Physician
Assistant training. We moved back to AK after that and now live outside of
Fairbanks.
In our 20 yrs. in AK we have had many wildlife experiences, ranging from many moose
encounters to a bear getting in our turkey pen. The view from our house encompasses
the Alaska mountain range and offers spectacular views of the northern lights.
In winter, we cope with long periods of darkness while in summer we have
extended periods of daylight.
I've just completed my 15th year with the retail clerks union and my husband won't let me
retire!!
